Brooke is an award-winning Sports Reporter in Roanoke, Virginia at WSLS-10.

In May of 2018, Brooke graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor's degree in Media Journalism and Business Leadership. Upon graduating, Brooke moved to Bozeman, Montana where she was a Sports Reporter and Weekend Anchor for the number one station in the market, KBZK and KXLF. During her time in Montana, she covered the Montana State Bobcats’ athletic rise, told engaging stories of high school athletes in southern Montana, and dipped her toes in reporting on professional bull riding and rodeo.

In June of 2019, Brooke accepted a job in her hometown of Roanoke, Virginia as a Sports Reporter with the NBC affiliate WSLS-10. It was a full circle moment helping anchor the notorious “1st and 10” football show every Friday night, as she was once doted as a “10 Caster” as a high schooler in the area, for tweeting scores to the station.

In addition to extensive high school athletics coverage, the sports department followed ACC, SoCon, Big South, and ODAC schools in the area, minor league baseball and hockey, all while enterprising important stories in the community.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Brooke was sent to work from home. During that time, she utilized Zoom, FaceTime, and Microsoft Teams in order to not miss a beat in reporting. She also took to the outdoors as reprieve from the isolation, and documented her trail blazing through a segment she created called “Backpacking with Brooke”.

Since life has returned to a sense of normalcy, Brooke has checked off many career firsts, including live coverage from the 2022 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and covering Regionals and Super Regionals in softball and baseball.

In her free time she enjoys being a fan at sporting events, hiking, floating down the river, and spending as much time outside as she can.
